Easy hoop earrings for your dolls
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This will work for many different size dolls, you don't have to pierce your dolls ears, & you can get a variety of looks. The basic earrings look like this:
To make these, all you need are jump rings. Jump rings are used in jewelry making. Even if you are not familiar with them, you've probably seen them hundreds of times. The come in a variety of sizes, & you can get them in everything from solid gold to inexpensive base metals. They are also easy to find. They're sold in craft shops, or online jewelry supply stores, or eBay, at minimal cost. Make sure you buy open jump rings, they also come in a closed version which will not work for this. Here are some of the jump rings I have:
In order to make the earrings, first, decide what size hoop you want. Since there are so many sizes, it will depend on your doll & what you want the earrings to look like. Just gently pull the ring apart where the 2 ends are. The metal is usually pretty soft, so you can do it with just your hands, or use a tweezer or small pliers, or just push a pencil through the ring. It will look like this:
Then, just slide it on your dolls ear. I find that if you put it a little high on the ear, it won't fall off as easily. If the ring feels loose, press it together while it's on the doll to tighten it. It will look like this:
Now your doll has earrings that can easily be removed or changed.
If you want to get fancy, add a small charm like this:
Or a pretty colored bead or a few beads like this
Then you can always have earrings that match what your doll is wearing.
EDITED TO ADD MORE INFORMATION:
Jump rings can also be bracelets & necklaces. Both Beach Rodeo & Gainax Nadia Momoko have jump ring bracelets, & Gainax Nadia's chokers are just large jump rings.
